Public Service Reform Unit to host public speaking competition

The Public Service Reform Unit has drawn on the services of the Lion’s Club and Toastmasters SVG to stage its public speaking competition which is part of Public Service Week of activities.

Eight participants will take part in the competition that takes place on Monday, June 20, 2022 at the Methodist Church Hall, Kingstown, a release from the Agency for Public Information (API) states.

They will speak on the topic: “The general public is fully aware of the mandate of all government ministries and departments, and the work being implemented to advance the sustainable development goals as we recover from recent disasters, disease and pandemic”.

The competition has three segments, including a main topic and an impromptu segment.

Director of the Public Service Reform Unit, Emma Jackson said Public Service Week should be embraced by all public servants because they play a critical role in national development.

The week runs from June 20-24 under the theme: Charting our Road to Recovery; Affirming the Sustainable Development.”

June 23 is Public Service Day.
