Baptiste confident that she will take Miss Plus Size crown
THE DELEGATE FROM StVincent and the Grenadines (SVG) who will take part in the Miss Plus Size Universe International Contest is confident that she will be able to capture the crown.
Lisa Baptiste will wear the hopes of SVG at the pageant which is scheduled to take place on August 6, 2022.
The show, which will feature delegates from 18 other countries is slated to take place at the Russell’s Auditorium.
Baptiste, a mother of two children is no stranger to beauty shows.
The Sandy Bay resident placed first runner up in the 1999 Miss Sugar City contest.
The former rural constable was also a contestant in the 2016 Miss Police beauty show.
Baptiste, who is now working as a traffic warden, said she will represent SVG with much pride on the night of the show.
“I have gained a lot of experience over the years, and I am fully confident, that I can win this show,” Baptiste told SEARCHLIGHT.
On the evening of the pageant, delegates will grace the stage in cultural wear, carnival costume, swimwear and evening wear.
They will also compete in the talent category of the show.
There is also a Facebook link where persons can vote for the contestant of their choice.
The show is being organized by Pearl Williams of Beautex International.
Williams told SEARCHLIGHT yesterday, May 30 that this is the seventh year she is hosting the Miss Plus Size Universe International competition.
She said other delegates in the show are from: South Africa, Botswana, Jamaica, BVI, Peru, Cuba, Netherlands, Antigua& Barbuda, Nigeria, St Kitts/ Nevis, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Guadeloupe,Thailand, St Lucia the USA and the Philippines.
