SVG’s Accreditation Board hosts conference

This country, along with other regional accreditation stakeholders, is today wrapping up the 17th annual conference of the Caribbean Area Network for Quality Assurance in Tertiary Education (CANQATE).

A release states that the St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) National Accreditation Board (NAB) has received support from the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT) in hosting the two day event, October 28-29.

CANQATE’s annual conferences are geared towards enhancing the competencies of its members, through structured engagements.

The SVG National Accreditation Board (NAB), has been a member of CANQATE over the last decade.

St Vincent and the Grenadines was due to host the annual conference last this year, however it was postponed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The NAB and the ACTT have collaborated to host an online version of the conference under the theme Higher Education: Quality Standards and the Global Higher Education Market in Response to Force Majeure.

Pro Vice Chancellor and Chair, Board for Undergraduate Studies, Professor Justin Carl Robinson of SVG was the featured speaker at the conference while the Chair of the National Accreditation Board Dr. Rosalind Ambrose and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education Myccle Burke addressed the opening session.

The respective sessions were chaired by Director of the SVGCC Nigel Scott; Senior Education Officers Dr. Trisha-Ann Job-Moses, Dr. Idelia Ferdinand, and Eslyn Thomas.

Retired Senior Education Officer Edlena Adams and CEO of the School of Continuing Education Sylvia Gould served as rapporteurs.
