Deadline today for submission of essays in FCCA Children’s Essay Contest

The Florida Caribbean Association (FCCA) is inviting students of St Vincent and the Grenadines to participate in the 2019 FCCA Foundation for the Caribbean Children’s Essay Contest.

The competition is open to children in the Junior Division, 12 years old and under and the Senior Division, 13 to 16 years of age.

In the Junior Division (Ages 12 years & under), the student who places first will win US$3000 personally and US$3000 for his or her school. The person in second position will win US$1500 and another US$1500 for the school. Third place will see the student taking home US$1000 and that student’s school getting US$1000.

In the Senior Division (Ages 13 years to 16 years), the student who places first will win US$3000 personally and US$3000 for his or her school. The person in second position will win US$1500 and another US$1500 for the school. Third place will see the student taking home US$1000 and that student’s school getting US$1000.

The topic for the essay is “Many cruise passengers use cruising as a way to sample different destinations. What impression does my country leave on the passengers and how does it or should it attract them back as stay-over guest?”

Essays should be submitted to the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture no later than Friday, July 5, 2019.
