FOSH acknowledges one of Sion Hill’s oldest residents
Friends Of Sion Hill (FOSH) Inc last Sunday, paid homage to one of Sion Hill’s most senior citizens, Reginald ‘Jack’ David.
The occasion came one day after Jack, who is believed to the oldest male resident of Sion Hill, celebrated his 95th birthday. To mark this milestone, Jack was presented with a gift basket containing food and toiletries. Still alert and able to perform routine tasks on his own, Jack expressed thanks to the organization for the gesture.
But it was not the FOSH orgainsation which feted Jack, as on his birthday, a group held a barbecue in his honour at Alston’s Shop at Top Village, Sion Hill. And, on Sunday, at his request, Jack was taken on a scenic drive to the Windward side of the island, compliments, Kelroy Webb. Jack made the request because according to him, we wanted to see the new Argyle International Airport before he died.
Jack, who was born in 1924, is originally from the village of Diamonds, but has lived most of his adult life in Sion Hill.
In his younger days, Jack worked as gardener, tilling the soil and weeding.
