Elderly and underprivileged get Rubis Christmas

OVER THE Christmas season, Rubis employees rolled up their sleeves and distributed food baskets to the elderly and the less fortunate persons across St Vincent.

Over 30 persons across the country received Christmas Hampers compliments the petroleum distribution company.

Elroy Edwards, country representative, said it is meaningful to give back and Rubis has been doing so on a continual basis.

“This is the fifth consecutive year we have embarked on such initiative and it gives us great pleasure to share the joys of the season with those who are less fortunate,” said Edwards.

“It is also a pleasure interacting and having conversations with those recipients and I take this opportunity to thank the persons within the communities who have been quite helpful in identifying the families most in need of these hampers,” he further added.

This year’s beneficiaries were selected from the communities of Penniston, Vermont, Questelles, Chauncey, Campden Park, New Montrose, Dubois, Diamonds and Stubbs and were chosen with the assistance of the Ministry of National Mobilization and Social Development and other agencies.

According to Estaletta Enville a senior citizen of Diamonds, “I can’t find words to say how thankful I am and the love I feel in my heart for you folks at Rubis. God bless you all!”

Rose from Coconut Range, Campden Park, declared “I always look forward to seeing Rubis at Christmas. I am very happy for the food basket”.

Clotilda Ollivierre from Vermont said that on behalf of her mother who is in her late nineties she is grateful to Rubis for the food basket.

Santa Claus was also on hand to bring joy to the communities that were touched by the generosity of Rubis.
