Gasoline price down, diesel up

The price of gasoline went down by 16 cents from yesterday Monday, November 19. Gasoline now retails at $12.83 per gallon, down from $12.99.

Diesel has been increased from $10.98 to $11.39, an increase of 41 cents while low-sulphur went up by 50 cents, from $11 to $11.50.

But according to Hans King, press secretary to the Prime Minister, with the increase in the price of diesel, the price in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) still remains the lowest in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU).

He said diesel retails at $15.60 in Grenada, $15.27 in St Kitts-Nevis, $13.95 in St Lucia and averages at $13.14 for the ECCU region.

The decrease in gasoline makes SVG the third lowest in the ECCU.

Antigua retails the cheapest at $12.50 and Dominica $12.67. Anguilla has the highest gasoline price at $16.78 per gallon, Grenada second highest at $15.90. The ECCU average for gasoline is $14.91 per gallon.
