Ministry to mark World Creativity and Innovation Day, July 27

An Exposition in recognition of ‘World Creativity and Innovation Day’ will take place on Friday, July 27 from 9:00 a.m. at the Alliance Francaise in Kingstown.

The event will be hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Commerce in conjunction with the Permanent Mission of St Vincent and the Grenadines to the United Nations to raise awareness of the role of creativity and innovation in problem-solving with the overall goal of sustainable development.

Vincy Innovation Expo 2018 is intended to showcase a wide range of local innovations and creations spanning from the field of Science and Technology, inclusive of Information Technology, Agriculture, Engineering, and Architecture; various Arts, such as Music, Art Works, Photography, Fashion, Culinary Arts, and Local Crafts.

Persons interested in participating must be between 15 and 45 years old; their innovations and creations must have a level of originality, must address or solve a problem that is being faced within a community; and the use of ingenuity and creativity of various materials is highly advised if possible.

Persons interested in the exposition are encouraged to participate. An appearance fee of US$50.00 will be paid to each participant. There will also be further opportunity to win cash prizes of up to US$1,000 (first prize), US$500 (second prize) and US$250 (third prize).

Interested persons may register at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Commerce and Trade which is located on the third floor of the Administrative Centre, Bay Street, in Kingstown.

The deadline for registration is Monday July 23, 2018. Judging and the presentation of prizes will take place on Friday July 27 at the close of the Expo.
