Brewery is platinum sponsor for Vincy Mas

Once again, the St Vincent Brewery Limited is a super platinum sponsor of Vincy Mas and will be fully involved with the country’s premier national festival.

The company’s tagline for Vincy Mas 2018 is, “Hairoun is Carnival” and Marketing Coordinator at the St Vincent Brewery Limited Kelvin Franklyn says this year, they will be going out of their way to show persons what Hairoun means to Carnival, and what Carnival means to Hairoun.

One such task involves Hairoun moving into J’Ouvert celebrations, which will be held on Carnival Monday morning, July 9.Franklyn noted that over the years, they have been involved in Monday T-shirt band activities, but that aspect of Carnival is now on sound footing, so they have decided to give their support to J’Ouvert.Over the years, J’Ouvert celebrations have seen somewhat of a drop off in activities, and Hairoun is hoping to bring back the crowds.

“We are going to reinvigorate J’Ouvert with our presentation called ‘Paintopia’ which will be a multicolor presentation which will include colours that are known as Vincy colours and other colours,” explained Franklyn.

The marketing coordinator added also that they are intricately involved with all rural carnivals, and this is important as the rural events are held to assist in the buildup to the national festival. Also, the Brewery was part of the launch of Vincy Mas, which took place on Saturday, May 5.

Franklyn noted that during the launch, Hairoun had a caravan that went to the Windward side of the island and later linked up with the Vincy Mas parade which went through the streets of Kingstown and ended at Victoria Park.

“As super platinum sponsors, we were involved in the launch and we went to Georgetown and came back to Kingstown and met up with the parade and went to Victoria Park. It was our duty and responsibility to showcase our brand and make sure we positioned within Vincy Mas 2018,” explained Franklyn who added that they gave away drinks and had masqueraders on their caravan.

“The launch was very good, it was well organized, and I must congratulate the Carnival Development Corporation and all the components who all gave a good account of themselves,” said Franklyn, who opined that the 41st edition of Vincy Mas will be bigger than last year.
