Huge turnout expected for Nine Mornings

This year, the unique Vincentian festival that is Nine Mornings is expected to be one of the biggest ever.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Minister of Tourism, Sports and Culture Cecil McKie said that two weekends ago, the National Nine Mornings Committee held a meeting to finalize plans for this year’s festival, as well as discuss last year’s event.

According to the Minister, the meeting was attended by over 40 participants who make up the various entities that come together to make Nine Mornings possible.

McKie said that the huge turnout at the meeting augers well for the 2017 festival. He noted that the many chartered and scheduled flights, both international and regional, will see the attendance at the festival grow.

Nine Mornings is held annually from December 16 to 24 throughout the country. Entertainment is provided in the wee hours of the morning through singing, dancing, skits and games among other things.(LC)
