Finalists in Courts OECS Reading Competition announced
The seven finalists in the 2017 Courts OECS Reading Competition have been announced.
They are: Ethan Balcombe, St Maryâs Roman Catholic; Katelyn Bobb, Stubbs Government; Kent Cain Jr, Brighton Methodist; Christian Joseph, Kingstown Preparatory; J Tsi Yon Simmons, Windsor Primary; Jonneil Stowe, Lodge Village Government; and Sheya Weeks, Spring Village Government.
The Ministry of Education in a release congratulated the seven schools continuing on to the finals, but also applauded all schools for commendable efforts in the preliminaries. Of the 53 participants, there were 39 females and 14 males.
The release said the date of the national finals will soon be announced and the winner in the local leg will represent St Vincent and the Grenadines at the regional competition in St Lucia.
