NDP expresses alarm over killing of Fair Hall woman

The New Democratic Party (NDP) has expressed its alarm at the killing of Simonia DaSilva of Fair Hall.

In a release issued Wednesday, the NDP said this latest homicide is “shocking” to the NDP and to all Vincentians.

“We wish to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Simonia. It is never easy to lose a loved one. It is especially difficult to lose one so young and taken from those close to her in such tragic circumstances

“We call on the police to investigate this matter quickly and to bring all those involved to justice. Also, we urge anyone who has information that might assist the police in their investigation to please cooperate with the investigators.

“We further call on the various organizations in our country that serve young people to take this tragic event as a call to action. The challenge is great, but the community working together can help to prevent other such tragedies,” the release said.
