Etiquette training for athletes

Athletes who will participate in regional or international competitions under the umbrella of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) will go through a training programme to improve the quality of their representation.

This announcement was made by the president of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Athletics Association Keith Joseph, during the introduction of athletes for the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games at the Olympic House yesterday.

Joseph stated that for the past year, Soroptimist International has been conduction training sessions for female athletes.

“Through Soroptimist international, we have engaged a number of young female athletes in terms of their preparation for representation, in terms of personal communication skills, etiquette, conducting themselves in interviews, discipline, the way in which they speak,” he said.

According to Joseph, the first group of participants are scheduled to graduate shortly.

“So, that is something that is going to be continued in the future and we are proud to associate ourselves with Soroptimist International,” he said.
