Last week for Best of SVG ballot submissions

This is the last week in which members of the public will have an opportunity to cast a vote in the 2017 Best of SVG campaign.

The campaign, which was launched on Monday, January 30, as a collaborative effort between Interactive Media Ltd and Rebel Media, seeks to recognize all that Vincentians think is excellent in our country.

The public is being invited to nominate everyday people, businesses, locations and attractions in 115 categories, from a range of categories, in order to identify and crown the ‘people’s choice’.

Voting began on February 3 and the final ballot papers will be published in the Midweek and Weekend editions of SEARCHLIGHT on Tuesday, February 28 and Friday, March 3.

Voting will end on March 3.

Drop boxes (for completed ballots) have been placed at SEARCHLIGHT at Lower Kingstown Park; Massy Supermarket (Upper Bay Street); Massy Supermarket, Arnos Vale; Randy’s Supermarket, Diamond; Hadaway Mini Mart, Chateaubelair; Bequia Tourism Office (Vena May), Bequia; Dawn Sandy, Canouan; Cally Crichton, Mt. Bentick, Georgetown.

Persons who fill in at least 25 of the 115 categories will automatically be entered into a draw to win EC$1,000, the winner of which will be selected randomly under the strict supervision of accounting firm BDO Eastern Caribbean.

At the end of the campaign, the winners will be announced at a formal ceremony, which will take place at

the end of March – National Heroes Month.

Today, Tuesday, February 28, Best of SVG representatives will be on Boom FM at 7:30 a.m., WE FM at 9 a.m. and Xtreme FM at 4 p.m.
