Police veteran still not promoted even after complaining in calypso

A number of police officers have been promoted, but despite complaints in a calypso he rendered on November 4, 2016, during a police calypso competition, Constable Parnell “Master 9” Browne, who has been a member of the force for 26 years, is not among them.

The appointments, which were announced last Wednesday, December 28, were approved by the Police Services Commission since November 23.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Envill Williams has moved to Superintendent of Police (SOP), while Inspectors David Trumpet and Daniel Hall have moved to the position of ASP.

Station Sergeants John Ballah, Garfield Thomas, Carmel Craigg and Sherol James have been promoted to Inspector, while Sergeants Grafton Samuel, Catherine Robinson, Sylvester John, Pedro Harry and Dwayne Bailey have moved to the Station Sergeant position.

In the Fire Brigade Department, Sergeant Michael Bess has moved to Station Sergeant and Corporal Bertram Jack has moved to Sergeant. Constables Kenton Pope, Glendon Davis and Trevor Grant have moved to the position of Corporal.

The Coastguard services sees among others, Petty Officer Vincent Gordon and Leading Seaman Gordon Charles moving to the Chief Petty Officer position.

A number of other positions have been approved by acting Commissioner of Police Reynold Hadaway.(LC)
