In the senior category, Grade 6 was first in the test piece segment, with the song “What can I give to the King?” and first also in the selected piece segment, with a medley of “Away in a Manger”. By winning the title, the class took away the Kenville Horne trophy, a certificate and a number of other prizes. Grade 5 was second, while Grade 4 held down the third position

The event was put on by the Lowmans Leeward Anglican School and was coordinated by Nicole Paris and Jonathan Roberts.

Roberts said that show was very good and was well received for the most part. “It brought out the members of the community, which was one of the objectives.”

He said that the school wanted to demonstrate that it caters to the holistic development of the students, especially now it is Christmas time.

“We wanted the community to understand the true reason for the season,” said Roberts.

The Grade 6 teacher also said that he would like more persons to contribute to the event, since it serves to motivate the youths to do something constructive.

The crowd at the event was well entertained with performances from Janelle Thomas; the very energetic and crowd favourite, gospel singer Ronnie Richardson; La Gracia Dance Company, the school’s dance group, the school’s choir, Dynamite, and the trio of Asa, Kory, Drexel and Shunnel Nedd.
