On Wednesday, the Medical Association released the new specifically designed, attractive lapel pins with the Pink Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon, gracefully sashed by a Blue bow-tie, depicting the colour for Prostate Cancer Awareness.

During the month of September, these pins will be available for sale at Caribbean Medical Imaging Centre and some medical practitioners’ offices. As well, a series of enlightening articles about prostate cancer will be featured in the SEARCHLIGHT newspaper.

In October, the joint activities will include the PINK SALE-BLUE POWER fund-raising sales event under the SINGER Gallery on Friday, September 30, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The benefits go toward assising those afflicted by prostate and breast cancer.

Friday, October 14, will see the traditional PINK CAP CITY WALK, with an accompanying focus on Prostate Cancer Awareness. This event begins in Heritage Square from 3:30 p.m. And the activities will culminate with the third annual 5K run from Arnos Vale Playing Field to the car park of the ex-GrassRoot Tennis Courts. This will be held in collaboration with the students of the Trinity School of Medicine.

The general public is invited to join the Medical Association in all these activities – and show strong support – as we all work towards “PUTTING OUR STRENGTHS TOGETHER” for Prostate and Breast Cancer Awareness.
