Coreas Hazells opens another pharmacy
In an attempt to expand and improve their service delivery to the people of St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), Coreas Hazells has opened another pharmacy, this one located on the ground floor of their head office on Bay Street.
The newest addition to the Coreas brand came last Saturday during an opening ceremony which had a dual purpose.{{more}}
Speaking at the gathering, chief executive officer (CEO) of Coreas Hazells Joel Providence said that the new pharmacy is the ompanyâs way of promoting the recurring and important theme of healthy living through proper diet and active engagement.
âThis means a lot to us. And you mean a lot to us. As SVGâs oldest trading company, we are obliged to play our part,â said Providence, who is urging Vincentians to take advantage of the companyâs third pharmacy that has been opened for the publicâs convenience.
âOutside of direct commercial intent, we truly want to promote healthy living. Too many persons are dying of non-communicable diseases, such as diabetes and hypertension, and we believe that we too can help to educate persons on these health issues by providing information and the right dietary supplements,â stressed the CEO.
He said that they are hoping to work with physicians, nurses and the health care community, in an effort to advance quality of lives.
âTodayâs activity is one small step, one small measure towards this goal,â said Providence.
The opening ceremony also heard from Minister of Tourism, Sports and Culture Cecil âCesâ McKie and former sports personality Michael Findlay.
McKie congratulated the Coreas team for opening the pharmacy, which he described as a very important addition to the range of services already offered by the company as it relates to pharmaceuticals.
He said that the pharmacy is important, as with the coming on stream of the Argyle International Airport, the country has to make sure that it is able to cope with the requirements that will come with increased visitors.
âI am happy to see that Coreas has this vision, the vision of increasing demand on our services and they are in fact providing these services,â said McKie.
During the ceremony, three local sports personalities, in the form of Genita Lewis, Guy Lowe and Stanley âGunnyâ Hinds were honoured by Coreas Hazells.(LC)
