Each student is expected to deliver an eightminute presentation for the prepared speech and a one-minute presentation for the impromptu segment.

The topic selected for the prepared speech this year is: “The print and electronic media have a huge influence on violent behaviours among young people.”

This activity is designed to: encourage students to conduct research; heighten their awareness about issues affecting their health; improve their communication skills.

The competition will again be sponsored by DIGICEL.

Students placing first, second and third will be awarded a desktop computer, a laptop, and a tablet, respectively, with each school receiving a trophy.

The Health Promotion Unit within the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment is coordinating this activity.
