Mandarin Chinese course open for applications now!

Persons in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) who are interested in learning Mandarin Chinese now have an opportunity to do so.

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC) has announced the commencement of a 12-week Level 1 Mandarin Chinese course from February 3, 2016. Classes will be held every Wednesday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the SVGCC.

Persons interested in the Mandarin Chinese language and culture, especially those who plan to apply for Taiwan Scholarships to study in Taiwan, are encouraged to sign up for the course.

This is the second time that the SVGCC has offered the Mandarin Chinese course to the public. The lecturer, Betty Siao, is dispatched by Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) and has been teaching Mandarin in this country since 2014.

The course aims to teach students the very basic concepts of Mandarin in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students will learn how to introduce and express themselves and more in simple Mandarin by the end of the course.

The application deadline is January 22, 2016. The application fee is EC$100. For more information, please visit: www.svgcc.vc/news.
