The committee responsible for the rehabilitation of the library of the Girlsâ High School has expressed thanks to past student Jennifer Eustace and friends for fully tiling the floor of the library.
On May 7, 2015, at its 104th Anniversary Lecture, the school launched a drive to revitalize the remainder of the library.{{more}}
At the lecture, the audience in attendance donated $1,630.14, while a âgofundmeâ account set up by alumna Gale Branch-Alexander has raised US$600 to date.
Another alumna Jehann Jack donated $1,500 and a copy of the IMFâs handbook on the ECCU: âThe Eastern Caribbean Economic and Currency Union: Macroeconomics and Financial Systems,â in which she was the lead author for one of the chapters. Caroline Fairbairn from the class of 1953 has donated $100, while the Rotary Club of St Vincent donated a considerable number of age appropriate novels.
âThe Girlsâ High School is grateful for all contributions received so far and would like to take this opportunity to remind past and present students, well-wishers and friends that every little counts and would be appreciated,â a release from the school said.
Donations can be made in person at the school or via www.gofundme.com/ghslibrary. Donations can be in the form of money or new fiction and non-fiction books.
