Last weekend, Special Olympics SVG moved its âTake us to the Worldâ fund-raising drive to the beautiful island of Bequia, in the form of a Bingo.
The Clive Tannis Playing Field Hard court came alive, as the people of Bequia turned out in their numbers to play Bingo and support the travel of local athletes to the Special Olympics World Games in July.{{more}}
Seven rounds of Bingo were played, with prizes that ranged from $50 to $200. The big winner of the night was Jenet Goodluck, who scooped the jackpot of $500 and a $100 Courts gift voucher.
Other lucky winners were Denice Leonard, Sylvester Tannis, Leonard Burgin, Lynda John, Brennel Goodluck, Elvis Gordon, Nichole Hutchins, Keon Edwards and Leortha Thomas.
Special Olympics SVG continues its fund-raising drive to raise sufficient funds to send a Team to the Special Olympics 2015 World Summer Games in Los Angeles, California, next month.
Special Olympics expressed thanks to persons and businesses such as Select Store, Herman Belmar, WAG Service Station, Courts St Vincent Ltd, Bequia Venture, Cocoâs Place, Vintage, The Reef, Sailors Cafe, Mac Pizzeria, Dance Creole, Bequia Beach Hotel, Dr Godwin Friday, Aurin King and Arton King for sponsoring the event and playing a part in the âTake us to the Worldâ fund-raising drive in Bequia.
Additionally, the release from Special Olympics said they are grateful to everyone who has supported their âTake Us to the Worldâ fund-raising drive, and called upon âthe whole nation to dig deep into their pockets to ensure our team can go for gold at the Games.â
