Digicel launches cloud based surveillance monitoring system

Persons looking for a cloud based surveillance monitoring system can now go to Digicel, which this week launched ‘Digicel Eye’.

Speaking at the launch of Digicel Eye on Tuesday, April 21, at the Flow Wine Bar in Kingstown, Business Solutions executive Diana Caesar noted that Digicel Eye makes it easier for customers to keep track of their business operations with the use of cameras.{{more}}

The cameras, available in three variations, can be mounted inside or outside and provide security and monitoring services. Digicel Eye is unique, as instead of storing footage on a hard drive, it stores data on Digicel online cloud back-up systems that are located in places like Miami and the UK.

The cameras provide high definition video monitoring that can be viewed on a laptop, a cell phone or a tablet. The system allows for the monitoring of multiple cameras, while persons can zoom in on points of interest and play back and record video. Footage can be viewed live or recorded for playback.

Caesar said that the cameras can be installed easily while there is a minimal upfront cost. The footage can be viewed from anywhere in the world and the fact that the footage is stored in a cloud offers protection from physical damage, hardware defect or theft.

Digicel’s country manager John Gidharry encouraged persons to invest in the system as Digicel will maintain the product throughout its life, while it comes with a number of features and benefits.
