PM in Panama City for 7th Summit of the Americas

Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves is in Panama City today, attending the seventh Summit of the Americas meeting.

The two-day meeting, which ends tomorrow, brings together leaders from North, Central and South America for discussions on issues affecting the region. Topics on the agenda include trade, security and migration.{{more}}

This is the first year that Cuba has been invited to attend the summit, which will also be attended by US President Barack Obama.

Prime Minister Gonsalves left the state on Wednesday for Jamaica, where he attended a meeting between CARICOM heads of government and Obama yesterday, Thursday.

The Prime Minister is being accompanied by his wife, Eloise, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Camillo Gonsalves.

The Ambassador to Venezuela, Andreas Wickham, joined the delegation in Panama City. Prime Minister Gonsalves is expected to return to the state early next week.
