Ministry to host Schools’ Garifuna Folk Festival this Thursday

As part of the celebration of the International Garifuna Summit, the Garifuna Heritage Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture, will host a Schools’ Garifuna Folk Festival on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the Victoria Park, 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.{{more}}

Students from both primary and secondary schools on mainland St Vincent, as well as the Grenadines, will be participating with cultural items based on the theme of this year’s Schools’ Garifuna Folk Festival which is: “Children of Chatoyer; Fruits of Our Heritage.”

Led by the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force, the students will parade from the Bishop’s College compound at 8:30 a.m. and then process to the Victoria Park where the cultural showcase of talent would be on display.
