Former SVGCC student excels at UWI Level 1 Examinations

Calvon Charles, a Vincentian student who pursued the University of the West Indies (UWI), St Augustine campus, Social Sciences Level One programme at the St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC) 2013-2014, has been awarded{{more}} the St Augustine Campus Prize for being the most outstanding student in the Faculty of Social Sciences at Level I with a GPA of 4.17 of a possible 4.3.

Charles took the decision to begin his studies towards a BSc in Management Studies at the College through the franchised programme the SVGCC has been running since 2008. In this programme, students can complete the 10 first year (Level 1) UWI Social Sciences courses with the SVGCC for a fraction of the cost of going overseas. These courses are taught face to face on evenings, so students can work and study at the same time.

“The entire SVGCC family heartily congratulates Calvon and wishes him all the best in his continued studies. The Social Sciences Faculty at St Augustine has nominated him for the University Cross Campus Level 1 prize. We know that he has an excellent chance of winning that award as well. Mr Charles is now in his second year of his BSc at the St Augustine Campus in Trinidad and Tobago,” a release from the SVGCC said.
