On August 30, the Negative to Positive Foundation lined the Layou waterfront to distribute school supplies to children in the Central Leeward area.
When SEARCHLIGHT spoke with group leader Chester Morgan, he revealed that the Mustique Company and LIME were very instrumental in the exercise.
âWeâve been doing this since 2012 but we used to do it out of our own pockets. This is the first time that we have gotten sponsors,â the physical education teacher said.
âWe want to tell them thank you because they helped us send a child to school. The motto is âSave the young minds through education and sportsâ and they helped us by purchasing books. Some children really donât have and it will lessen the cost for the parents.â
Morgan highlighted that through Mustique Companyâs sponsorship, Negative to Positive was able to purchase 50 dozen exercise books for primary schools as well as other stationery supplies.
Also, money was provided to some secondary school students to buy exercise books which had specially printed covers from the respective schools.
He added that LIME sponsored a particular athlete by helping to purchase his school uniform and other items.
âMore than 80 persons benefitted this year. We delivered books at the primary school too so those children that donât have books; they can come to school and maybe get exercise books,â Morgan said.(BK)
