NBC radio announcer robbed

A female radio announcer at the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) was on Friday, June 6, held at gunpoint and robbed.

Police say Javelle Frank, 38, who is also known on radio as “Sentimental Javelle” or as “Lady Diya” in the calypso arena{{more}}, was relieved of her purse, which contained $360 and a cellular phone valued at $600, at about 11 p.m. at Arnos Vale.

According to reports, a masked man approached Frank with a gun and demanded her belongings as she walked towards a vehicle.

The Miss St George beauty pageant was taking place in the vicinity around that time. Frank was not hurt during the incident.

The matter is currently under investigation.(KW)
