As part of the preparation, a series of one-day training sessions has been organized for teachers identified as point persons. Point persons have a critical role to play, as they would be responsible for supporting head- teachers in monitoring and supervising the implementation process. These teachers will also assist with the preparation and submission of progress reports and will work collaboratively with all stakeholders.
The first training session took place on Wednesday, February 26, at the conference room of the Curriculum Development Unit. The dayâs activities included, but were not limited to, sessions on Presenting the Career Guidance and Education programme using an integrated approach; Career Guidance and Education lesson-planning and delivery; and the Role of Career Guidance and Education in schools. Speaking at the first training session, educator and counsellor Allan Burnnett outlined the importance of the programme in schools.
