On Tuesday, the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cocoa Company donated $5,000 to NEMO for the relief fund.

“We hope this money can go a long way in helping St Vincent and the Grenadines,” said the company’s general manager, Andrew Hadley.

On behalf of the persons affected by the December floods, Prince thanked Hadley for the donation, which he said would be “very useful”.

“[It is] coming at a time when we are going to be called upon to provide a lot of services to the affected population. We still need to feed a lot of people,” the director said.

According to Prince, there are still more than 170 affected people in shelters and another 300 outside of shelters.

“The reconstruction process is long, hard and very expensive,” he said.

The Dove Club, a support group for the World Pediatric Project, also presented a cheque to NEMO on Tuesday.

Prince thanked chairperson of the group, Lonnie Robinson and WPP representative, Jacqueline Browne-King for the donation and stated that it would go towards the medical aspects of the relief effort.
