Six senior police officers promoted

Six senior police officers, who together have accumulated over 140 years of service in the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force, will, as of tomorrow, be promoted to higher ranks.{{more}}

Station Sergeant Bernard Haynes has been promoted to the rank of Inspector of Police.

Haynes, who has been a police officer for the past 33 and a half years, is the current bandmaster of the police force band, and was this year recognized as being the only police officer to have attended every Independence parade since 1979.

Also promoted is Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ruth Jacobs, who will mark 31 years in the force next month. From tomorrow, Jacobs will be Superintendent of Police.

ASP Richard Browne, who will observe 30 years as an officer next month, will also be a Superintendent of Police. Moving up in the ranks is Inspector Leonard Fergus, who, with 21 and a half years of service, will be an Assistant Superintendent of Police.

Another Inspector, Thecla Andrews, will join Fergus as ASP.

To be promoted to the rank of Inspector is Police Constable Neil Jack.

The approval for the promotions was granted by the Police Service Commission.
