Youlou Pan Movement (YPM) Fun Day

The most “fun” event on the Youlou Pan Movement’s (YPM) calendar took place last weekend.{{more}}

Members of the steel pan fraternity stepped out of their usual comfort zone and competed in the realm of sports. For the second year, the YPM Fun Day brought members of the steel band fraternity together in a healthy, friendly environment. The event is aimed at building team spirit and fostering greater camaraderie among YPM member bands.

Bands participated in many activities including: The Blind Game, 5-a-side Soccer, Lime & Spoon, Needle & Thread, the Four-Legged Race and an “Eat All” competition.

The YPM Fun Day took place last Saturday, November 16, at the Victoria Park. It began with a judged March Past at 1 p.m.

Results: Winner of the March Past – Scotia Bank South East Steel Orchestra; winner of the 5-a-side Soccer – Sion Hill Euphonium. Overall winners: 1st – Sion Hill Euphonium; 2nd – Scotia Bank South East; 3rd – Potential Steel Orchestra. The other participating bands were Genesis, New Dimension, Starlift and Symphonix.
