The Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) has expressed condolences to the relatives of 17-year-old Camilla Trimmingham, who was killed in a JâOuvert band on Monday morning.{{more}}
In a release issued Wednesday, Chairman of the CDC Dennis Ambrose said that the incident was unfortunate, and he hoped that the situation does not repeat itself in the future.
He said that measures would be taken in an effort to prevent a similar occurence.
âWe extend a warning to those individuals who dance and jig close to the trucks, to please exercise great cautionâ¦. The CDC and the police will also be reviewing the safety and security procedures in this regard.â
Condolences have also been expressed by Go Vincy, the JâOuvert band that Trimmingham had been a part of when the tragedy occured.
Andre Alexander, an organizer of the Go Vincy: Breaking Dawn JâOuvert band, said in a release that members of the group had Camilla and her family in their thoughts.
âLosing a loved one is one of the saddest life experiences possible, and words of true comfort are difficult to find.
âPlease know that we are thinking of you in your sorrow,â the release said.
