President of the Association Yvette Antoine shared her views while speaking at a luncheon for retired principals on Tuesday.

“I’m not fully informed of the circumstances of the dismissal of the principal of the South Rivers Primary School. However, I am pleased to know that the St Vincent Teachers Union have committed themselves to support Mr Sam in his legal battles,” Antoine said.

Antoine said the Primary Principals’ Association hopes that if it is revealed that Sam was dismissed unfairly, he would be reinstated.

Otto Sam was dismissed from the public service on May 15, 2013, after being found guilty of misconduct by a tribunal set up by the Public Service Commission.

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers Union held a press conference on May 29, 2013, where they questioned what law had been broken by Sam which led to his dismissal from the public service. (BK)
