A release from the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment stated that the objectives of Nutrition Week are to focus attention on the importance of good nutrition in adolescence and youth, promote the national food dietary guidelines as a guide to healthy living, empower adolescents and youth to practice healthy eating behaviours, and sensitize youth to the field of nutrition and dietetics.

The week of activities begins tomorrow with a radio address by Health Minister Clayton Burgin, which will be delivered on NBC Radio at 8:05 a.m.

On Saturday and on Sunday, churches are expected to offer prayers for the nation’s nutritional health.

During the week, nutrition will be featured prominently in the media, with NBC Radio hosting a Health Word nutrition quiz, as well as features on the Agency for Public Information (API) and in the newspapers.

Nutrition Week is being held under the theme “Good Nutrition – The Fountain of Youth- Healthier Lifestyle.”
