René Baptiste to deliver O. C. Forde Memorial Lecture tomorrow
The fourth and final lecture in the first edition of the O.C. Forde Memorial Lecture Series will be held tomorrow from 7:30 p.m. at the Peace Memorial Hall. The lecture would be delivered by René Baptiste.{{more}}
Baptiste is the Speaker of the OECS Assembly and a corporate lawyer with almost 40 years experience. She became our first Offshore Finance Inspector in 1997 and served as a member of parliament in St Vincent and the Grenadines between 2001 and 2010, in several ministerial capacities.
Baptiste is currently the president of the SVG Girl Guides Association and the chairman of the Board of Directors for VINLEC. She will speak on âThe Laws Governing Financial Institutions in SVG.â The lecture provides an opportunity for Vincentians to learn more about the workings of our financial system and to share their views on related issues.
