PAHO is also providing technical assistance for the collection and analysis of data and the formulation of the Chief Medical Officer’s report.

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment has been guided by the National Strategic Health Plan which covered the period 2007-2012.

The evaluation of the National Strategic Health Plan allows for an identification of the current priorities and also to facilitate the development of an outline of the necessary steps required for the drafting of a new medium term strategic plan. In this regard, the Pan American Health Organization has contracted Dr Kathleen Patricia Israel who has already begun the process.

Simultaneously, PAHO will provide technical support for the formulation of the CMO’s report. This will include the provision of an updated template for the report, as well as the relevant in-country consultations related to data collection, analysis and interpretation. Once the evaluation of the NHSP is advanced, a comprehensive evaluation of the Environmental Management Department will commence.
