Proprietor of the catering company, Sabrina Marks-Dasent, said that she is pleased to launch the product in St Vincent, especially after getting such high reviews on it.

“I started serving this chutney as an accompaniment to many of my dishes,” she said. “People loved it and kept telling me to bottle and sell it.”

Marks-Dasent highlighted that her chutney is completely homemade in a kitchen that is certified by the Public Health Department.

“It has an incredible mix of ingredients with a high proportion of juicy tomatoes which gives it a full body,” she said.

Other ingredients of the product include garlic, pepper and herbs.

Additionally, the proprietor said that ingredients are mostly sourced locally and that Plum Tree Chutney can be put to a variety of uses.

“You can serve it with savoury snacks such as samosas or patties,” Marks-Dasent explained. “…with sandwiches, hotdogs, meat, fish, curry and vegetarian dishes”.

The product is available at Sunrise Supermarket and at Bonadie Supermarket # 2 at an affordable price.

Marks-Dasent, however, assured that the product will be available at other supermarket outlets very soon.

Plum Tree catering services has been operating in St Vincent since January 2012 and offers personal service and advice that is designed around the customer, their guests and budget.

The launch of the locally made chutney will begin at 4 p.m. this afternoon and go until 6 p.m. at Sunrise Supermarket, Arnos Vale.(BK)
