Police informed SEARCHLIGHT that they were still awaiting the post mortem report, which would determine the cause and possible age and time of death of the infant, who was discovered by a homeless man, Francis Lewis, on January 3.

The baby was discovered shortly after 5 p.m. in a bin, wrapped in a small blanket, in a black plastic bag. The bin was located at the abandoned British American construction site, between the Internal Revenue building and the old Bank of St Vincent and the Grenadines branch on Egmont Street.

Police are appealing to persons who might have some information concerning the case to contact them.

Until the cause of death is determined, the case is being treated by police as a concealment of birth.
