More than 80 children of inmates and former inmates of Her Majesty’s Prisons were treated in December last year, during the second annual Prison Fellowship Christmas party.

Prison Fellowship director Costian Cupid said that the organization was pleased with the party, which took place at the Chebar Evangelical Assembly at Rose Place in Kingstown, on Thursday, December 20, and saw the children receiving gifts from various business houses and individuals in an effort to bring Christmas cheer to their lives.

Cupid pointed out that plans are to extend the project to the birthdays of the children, and as he thanked business houses and individuals, he called on them to support the upcoming venture.

Last year’s event saw LIME’s head of marketing Nikala Williams playing the role of Mrs Claus, as she assisted in the distribution of toys, food and other gifts to the children.

Williams pledged her company’s continued support to the project, which she says, brings joy to the hearts of the children.

Other sponsors of the Angel Tree Project include SVG Tyres, Jax, the Ministry of National Mobilization, East Caribbean Group of Companies, Bonadies Supermarket, Courts, and the Chebar Evangelical Assembly Church of Kingstown.(JJ)
