This year’s luncheon at the Lions’ Den in Kingstown on Wednesday saw the guests entertained by the Harlequin Performing Arts Academy from Buccament Bay.

Performances came from Kurt Kansley, whose international theatre credits include the Lion King, Hair, Ragtime and Rent.

He was joined by musical director and pianist Peter McCarthy, an associate musical director on South Pacific, who had conducted the West End production of Cats.

Lion Raphie King, who indicated that his club has been hosting the luncheon for the past 25 years, said that the members of the club were pleased with the resort’s support of the event, by providing timely entertainment during the festive season.

Resort Manager Christine Nelles pointed out that the gesture was part of the company’s community outreach programme in St Vincent and the Grenadines, with the performing arts academy currently working along with students of the Buccament Bay Secondary School. (JJ)
