CIBC FirstCaribbean International has contributed $8,100 to the local cause.

Head of the local branch of the Salvation Army Major Pierre Antoine said the contribution will be of great help to the organisation’s work, especially its recently constructed Children’s Home at Buccament.

“This gift will make a great impact on the citizens of this country,” Antoine said at the handing over at FirstCaribbean’s office in Kingstown on Tuesday.

The donation is one of several that CIBC FirstCaribbean is making to the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Appeal in countries where the bank operates, throughout the region.

Country manager Elroy John said the bank was pleased to make this contribution at this time of year to such a worthy cause.
