Youlou Arts Foundation to host creative arts show next week

An innovative “Six-by-Six” Art Show will be hosted next week by the Youlou Arts Foundation.

The purpose of this show, which will be held at the LIME Office in Kingstown next Wednesday from 9 a.m., is to raise awareness for the establishment of an Art Centre and Gallery for St Vincent and the Grenadines.{{more}}

The “Six-by-Six” refers to the six-inch by six-inch physical size of the art work. Local and international artists and students were asked to create work on the theme “My Homeland”.

Currently there are over 100 pieces of donated art work which will be displayed. There is also an online exhibition of all the art work. The site address is http://youlouarts.wordpress.com

Cecil McKie, Minister of Tourism, Sports and Culture, along with the representatives from the LIME office and Scotiabank are expected to attend the launch. Mc Kie will officially declare the show open. The public is invited to attend the launch.

Established in 2000 by Vincentian artist Camille Saunders-Musser, the Youlou Arts Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization created to develop, promote and preserve the arts and culture of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
