The TIHTC, a medical institute under the Department of Health of the Republic of China (Taiwan), offers training and exchange programmes for medical doctors from Taiwanâs allies. Since 2010 TIHTC has been providing medical training to medical doctors from the MCMH, a release from the Embassy of Taiwan said.
During their first month in Taiwan, the doctors will attend workshops at TIHTC in relation to the management of hospitals, Taiwanâs Healthcare System and National Health Insurance Programme. Afterwards it will be arranged for them to receive clinical training at the Changhua Christian Hospital (CCH) in their respective specialized areas in the following two months.
The CCH and the MCMH were twinned in August, 2010, which has turned a new leaf in medical cooperation between Taiwan and SVG. Apart from sending medical teams, the CCH also provides training to doctors, biomedical engineers and laboratory technicians from the MCMH.
âPrime Minister the Honourable Dr Ralph Gonsalves welcomes and attaches great importance to the twinning and cooperation between the two hospitals. During his official visit to Taiwan in 2011, he took time to pay a visit to CCH and was deeply impressed by the advancement of its facilities and the quality of its service, especially the CCHâs passion for promoting international health cooperation,â the release said.
