During a short handing over ceremony last Friday, Homer received the scholarship from Little, the proprietor of the beauty salon.

The donation will assist in the purchasing of some of Britney’s school supplies for one year.

The happy mom told SEARCHLIGHT that her prayers were answered.

“After I heard about it on the radio, I prayed about it because how I not working; I really needed the assistance for my daughter.

“I am really happy and I feel blessed about it, because I really needed it, and I thank Sylvanie and The Beauty Shop from the bottom of my heart,” Homer said.

Little said that although her establishment is a small one, it does not mean that she cannot lend assistance “to those who are in need.” “I’m just setting an example for other small businesses out there to reach out and help those persons who are in need,” she added.

Britney is a student of the Stubbs Government School and will be promoted to Grade 5 at the beginning of the new school year in September. (AA)
