Rodriguez, in an interview with the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) Radio yesterday, stated that the judges are not allowed to consult with one another during judging, but that âthey put down their figures, whatever they think and at the end the points are tallied up.â
â… The sheets are passed on to the auditor, the auditor tabulates the points and the girl with the highest point comes out as the winner,â Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez stated that the contestants are judged in four categories, which are: Swimsuit, Talent, Evening Wear and Interview. They were judged by five persons, all Vincentians, Rodriguez stated. âThey are people who we know, people of high integrity,â Rodriguez stated.
The judges for Miss SVG 2012 were Andrea Bowman, Headmistress of the Girlsâ High School, Colin Williams Director of Public Prosecutions, Cecil âBlazerâ Williams lawyer, Chairman of the Public Service Commission, playwright and dramatist, Nolywn McDowall, former Speaker of the House of Assembly, singer and artist, and Kezi Francis, Attorney-at-Law.
Rodriguez also thanked the patrons who supported the show on Saturday, as well as the featured artists, the members of the committee and others who made the show a success. She also extended congratulations to Miss SVG 2012 Carice Glasgow and the other contestants who she said worked hard over the eight months of preparation for the show.
