Customers to pay less for electricity in August

Electricity customers will see a reduction in their bills for the month of August.{{more}}

This is due to a 4.86 cents reduction in the fuel surcharge rate which will result in customers paying 45.63 cents per unit this month.

VINLEC attributes this decrease to a 4 per cent fall in the price of diesel fuel and the fact that one quarter of electricity for this period was generated using water, compared to the eighteen percent output from hydro stations last month.

VINLEC is reminding customers to continue to employ measures that will conserve electricity and result in lower bills. These include turning off appliances when not in use and buying only the most energy efficient appliances/equipment when shopping.
