Head of the Calliaqua based company Allison Smith-Sampson said that they are hoping to have upwards of 400 persons participating in a fun walk on Monday, June 13, organized by the distributors of the ever popular Crix Biscuits.

The walk, which begins at 5:30 am at the Calliaqua Playing Field, will take walkers along Villa/Fountain Road, down the Vigie Highway, Arnos Vale and back to Calliaqua.

A registration drive, which began a few weeks ago at the company’s office, is expected to continue in earnest this weekend at the Kingstown office of Karib Cable.

Sampson said that apart from Karib Cable, a number of other companies have joined together with Premier Distributors to exhibit the corporate citizenship in support of the Georgetown area, which was ravaged by flood rains in April. These include Mountain Top Spring Water, Sprotts Distributors and Coreas/ Hazells.

She said that medals will be awarded to the first three finishers in various categories, and that t-shirts and breakfast will be provided to all participants of the event.

According to Smith- Sampson, the company will also be involved in Fisherman’s Day celebrations, which also takes place at the Calliaqua Playing Filed on that same day, Whit Monday.

Two weeks ago, the company donated more than $20,000 to NEMO, through Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves for aid relief in the area.
