Invest SVG extends deadline for SSSIP applications

The application deadline, initially set for May 31, for the Secondary Schools Summer Internship Programme (SSSIP) being staged by Invest SVG, has now been extended to Friday, June 10.{{more}}

This is being done to accommodate those students who have not had the time to complete their applications due to sitting CXC/CSEC exams, or to allow resubmissions required due to the submission of incorrect or incomplete applications.

“We have received a number of applications from students, which is fantastic. We are happy to see that students are keen to apply for the Invest SVG internship. However, students must be careful to read the instructions carefully. An incorrectly filled out application may jeopardize their opportunity to join the programme,” Tonya Fraser, Invest SVG Marketing Manager (Ag.), cautioned.

The initiative is a paid internship programme, which is supported by the Ministry of Education. Four students currently at fourth and fifth form levels will be provided with the opportunity to bridge their academic development and gain professional skills to use on the job market.

To be eligible for the SSSIP, students are reminded to submit the following to the office of Invest SVG before the new deadline date: a completed, signed and dated SSSIP Application Form (available at www.investsvg.com); a CV / Resume; a personal statement of no more than 500 words; and one academic reference from a principal or teacher from their school.
