At the Talent Extravaganza held on Wednesday, May 4, at the Faith Temple Church, Llewellyn and Pompey were praised for their commitment to the school’s steel pan programme.

Llewellyn was instrumental in sourcing and tuning pans when the band was first established in the late 1980s. Since then, he has continued to work closely with the band.

Pompey became the arranger for the GHS Steel Orchestra in 1988 while he was still a student at the Bishop’s College Kingstown. Over the years, he has consistently secured the top three positions in the Junior Panorama competition for the Girls’ High School, and in 2010, after the schools’ division of that competition was separated from the community division, the Girls’ High School gained the first place.
